Rock is a way of Livin’!

In a week (of 7 days of course) in which we attended 6 concerts and saw over 14 bands playing, we also had the first Shinedown gig on our shedule. Shinedown didn’t play a Belgium show (would you expect different???) so we had to travel abroad. Cologne in Germany was the place to be, for the second time that week as a few days earlier we saw Axel Rudi Pell jammin’ there. So again cruisin’ on the highway, this time with less luck. A serious car accident was the cause that we stood still on the highway for over two hours, resulting in serious adrenaline. Will we even make it in time to the Hall to see one of our absolute favorite bands? At the end we managed, but... again serious stomach problems when entering the Hall. There was no sign of a photopass reserved for us at the entry?!? Fault of the organisation... Or maybe they just hate Belgian people. I don’t know! Fact was that we could get our equipment in as “professional material” wasn’t allowed without pass! Shit, why did I open my mouth!

So at the end, we had to do it with the “smaller stuff” we had with us, leaving the -special for this gig- bought new lense in the car.
Could anything bring back a little bit o’ mood this evening!

Yes Sir... Shinedown did! And how! They put down a show this evening, to remember for a long time. They ARE a wall of sound, with musicians “pure sang”, with a singer (Brent Smith) who exactly feels what people want... And with a voice which is live as strong as on the albums. Wow!

Of course we should mention a Zach Myers on guitar, but also the newer musicians in the band are gifted with an immense amount of talent.

Highlights from the evening came mostly from the THE SOUND OF MADNESS-album, but as Germany is still LYNYRD SKYNYRD crazy also their version of SIMPLE MAN should get credits, dus to the awesome interaction with the public.

Favs of the evening? Devour, Simple Man, Second Chance, If you only knew,... and... and... and...

On monday they will play Tilburg and all we can say: If you have the chance: GO! There is no valid reason to miss one of the best concerts for 2012!

And for ourselves, we hope that this time there will be no problems with the photopass, so later this week we can update more pictures of one of the most interesting bands on this planet. And to the Belgian concert promotors: SHAME ON YOU!
